I began my journey as an artist at San Francisco Art Institute, where I received my BFA in photography in 1994. I have worked in several different mediums since then, from large multi-media installations to painting and collage, but I now find myself coming full circle back to my roots in photography.
I have traveled and photographed extensively in over 40 countries across Asia, Africa, and Central and South America. I use my camera as both a storyteller and a translator. Since I often can’t speak the language, I find my camera is a way to communicate, play and share with the people I meet along the way.
While I like to work with many mediums and varied subject matter, I hope that the bulk of my photographic work can be viewed like an anthology of poetry on human interaction and connection, with each photograph conveying its own rhythm and telling its own story.
